U - Channel is a kind of cold-formed thin-walled steel section with a "U" -shaped cross-section. It is made by subjecting steel strips or plates to the cold-forming process. Generally, it consists of two parallel flanges and a web connecting them. The flanges are mainly used to bear compressive forces, while the web is used to resist transverse forces such as shear forces.
Ordinary carbon structural steel (Q235): Good strength and toughness with a yield strength around 235 MPa. It is cost-effective and widely used in construction.
Low-alloy high-strength structural steel (Q345): Higher yield strength (345 MPa) with excellent toughness, welding performance, and corrosion resistance for high-load requirements.
| Parameter | Specification Details |
|---|---|
| Surface treatment | Hot-dip galvanizing / Electrogalvanizing |
| Height | Commonly 80mm, 100mm, 120mm, 140mm, 160mm (100mm is frequent for light steel systems) |
| Width | Ranging from 40 to 80 mm based on design requirements. |
| Web Thickness | Between 1.5 and 3.0 mm. |
| Flange Thickness | Between 2.0 and 4.0 mm for improved bending resistance. |
🏗️ Construction Field: Used as main structural material for wall keels and roof purlins in light steel buildings and multi-story residences.
🏭 Industrial Field: Ideal for crane beams and industrial equipment supports due to high bending and shear resistance.
📦 Logistics & Warehousing: Utilized in warehouse shelving and supports for logistics conveying equipment.
