C - Channel is a kind of cold-formed thin-walled steel section with a "C" -shaped cross-section. It is made by subjecting steel strips or plates to the cold-forming process. Generally, it consists of two parallel flanges and a web connecting them. The flanges are mainly used to bear compressive forces, while the web is used to resist transverse forces such as shear forces.
Ordinary Carbon Structural Steel (Q235): Good strength and toughness, yield strength around 235 MPa. Cost-effective and widely used in construction.
Low-alloy High-strength Structural Steel (Q345): Yield strength up to 345 MPa. Offers higher strength, better welding performance, and superior corrosion resistance for high-load structures.
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Surface Treatment | Hot-dip galvanizing, Electrogalvanizing |
| Height | 80 mm, 100 mm, 120 mm, 140 mm, 160 mm, etc. (100mm is common for light steel keel systems) |
| Width | Typically 40 mm to 80 mm based on design requirements. |
| Web Thickness | 1.5 mm to 3.0 mm. |
| Flange Thickness | 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm for improved bending resistance. |
Construction Field: Used in light steel keel buildings for wall keels and roof purlins. Acts as the main load-bearing structural component in multi-story residences.
Industrial Field: Ideal for crane beams in plants due to bending and shear resistance. Also used as stable supports for industrial equipment.
Logistics & Warehousing: Used for high-strength warehouse shelves and supports for logistics conveying equipment like conveyors.
